Measurement manholes have versatile functions and thus different requirements for remote monitoring. Therefore, we show you the areas where our systems are used:

TRANSFER MANHOLE

Do you need to record the transfer flows from one water supply system to another? Our portfolio adapts to a wide range of situations on site:

Flow measurement

For this purpose, classical water meters, inductive flow sensors (IFS) or attachable ultrasonic flow sensors (UFS), among others, are used.

The choice of sensor depends on the available power supply and the hydraulic conditions on site.

Flexible energy supply

In the simplest case, a transfer manhole can already be fully monitored with a battery-operated device.

We cover higher requirements for rapid data availability and special sensors with solar or power grid systems.

Measurement, control, visualisation

If simple measurement of the transfer flow is not sufficient, control systems are available. These can be used for:

  • Regular pipe flushing,
  • Automatic tank filling,
  • Mixing ratios adjusted

All recorded signals are visualised via the online datacenter and actuators can be controlled remotely. Anomalous measured values will be reliably alarmed by e-mail, text message or phone call.

ZONE MANHOLE

Have you divided your distribution network into zones and want to know the consumption per zone? Do you want to be able to localise water losses quickly? In addition to the functions of the transfer manhole, we think of the following:

Live mode

The live mode is used to quickly and efficiently isolate water losses. You set gate valves and observe online in real time how the flow rates change.

Electricity or a solar power supply must be available for this – as online mode requires a lot of energy.

Alerting

The flow rate is permanently monitored. If it exceeds or falls below freely definable thresholds, the remote monitoring technology provides a corresponding alarm.

The time periods of the thresholds can also be adjusted – this is known as flow profile monitoring.

Zone-focussed evaluation

Of course, the system also calculates the consumption volume per zone. This depends on the volumes of water flowing in and out.

These quantities are visualised in the datacenter using map views.

PRESSURE REDUCTION MANHOLE

Do you have several pressure zones in your water supply system and want to be informed in the event of pressure reduction faults? We have the following additional solutions for this:

Pressure measurement

Usually there is no electricity in these manholes. Nevertheless, we have the appropriate technology to continuously monitor the pressure upstream and downstream of the regulator.

Property protection, flood detection

In addition to the mains and control pressure, the following parameters can also be recorded:

  • Access to the property
  • Flooding in the event of a pipe burst
  • Flow quantity

Alerting

The measured values are permanently monitored. If it exceeds or falls below freely definable thresholds, the remote monitoring technology provides a corresponding alarm.

QUALITY MEASURING MANHOLE

Do you have an on-site grid power supply and want to monitor the water quality including disinfection parameters in your drinking water network in real time in addition to the flow rate? We offer systems with the following features:

Quality parameters

The following parameters, which can also be measured online, are of particular interest in the distribution network:

  • Temperature
  • Conductivity
  • Turbidity
  • UV permeability
  • Chlorine
  • pH/redox value
  • TOC – total organic carbon
  • DOC – dissolved organic carbon

Inline installation

You don’t want to discard any water for measuring the quality of your pipe network. That’s why we offer sensors that can be integrated into the pipework using a tapping clamp. This will not interrupt your water supply!

High availability

In addition to automatic sensor cleaning, these stations can also be equipped with the following functions:

  • Alarm / automatic control in the event of limit value violations
  • Battery buffering to bridge power failures
  • Redundant communication via cellular network & ethernet
