Choose from a large portfolio of suitable sensors – we are also happy to check the integrability of third-party sensors in our unio GROUNDWASER QUALITY system.
Water level and temperature
The water level is recorded using water level probes and is the key quantitative parameter. The course of groundwater levels provides information on groundwater recharge and the effects of abstraction. The water temperature is a qualitative basic parameter. Constant values indicate long residence times in the subsurface.
Conductivity
Electrical conductivity is a sum parameter for the content of dissolved ions, which can come from salts, minerals and chemicals. Conductivity is an easy-to-measure but very helpful quality parameter. Salinization, mixing or contamination processes can be detected.
Oxygen content
The oxygen content in the water is measured optically using the fluorescence method. It provides information on whether the water has an oxidizing or reducing effect. Reducing ratios indicate, for example, a possible breakdown of nitrate.
pH value
The pH value indicates whether acidic or alkaline conditions are present. The pH value influences many chemical and biological processes. Acidic water is aggressive and dissolves heavy metals more easily.
Nitrate
Nitrate (NO3) and nitrite (NO2) can be detected digitally using spectrometric measurement. Nitrate provides information on the pollution of groundwater with fertilizers. Nitrite is formed as a biological degradation product of nitrate. Both substances are particularly dangerous for infants in drinking water.
Spectrum
Spectral analysis probes are true all-rounders for monitoring water quality. Parameters such as TOC, DOC, turbidity, color, UV254, BTX and much more can be precisely recorded. In addition, the entire spectrum can be analyzed to create fingerprints and spectral alarms.
